First off, I have to say that I am so in love with this family. We had so much fun together (despite me losing my camera bag for a few moments). The weather couldn’t have been better. The location in Deep Ellum was absolutely beautiful. And they showed up so laid back and relaxed we were destined for fun. Right now I am in the throws of editing this session, and came across this series of pictures that just made my heart burst. I can’t choose just one, and absolutely had to share them with all of you. And according to these pictures, I am hi.la.ri.ous. (Naturally.)

Thanks again for a wonderful session! I will let you know SOON when your images are completed and ready for you to view. Happy Thanksgiving ALL!

Sibling Love | University Park Highland Park Childrens Photographer
November 2, 2011I had so much fun last week photographing these two sweet kiddos in Highland Park. The weather was absolutely beautiful, the children’s outfits were perfect, and oh, the kids couldn’t have been more fun to hang out with! Big Brother was SO funny and was always shocking me with his intellect. There was one moment when I told Little Sister to whisper in his ear a word that she made up. But before she had the opportunity to do so, he had to ask me if the word was going to have any nouns in it. I couldn’t have laughed harder! I was caught so completely off guard by his question!

One of the greatest parts of my job is speaking with Mom before the photoshoot during our phone consultation. We discuss location, wardrobe and other nitty-gritty, but almost more important is getting to know and understand the personalities of the kids before I meet them. It is always so fun to show up at our photoshoot and see how the kids meet up with what Mom has told me about them. This Mom could not have been more spot on. I love the LOVE I was able to capture between this brother and sister!
And this last picture makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Totally sums up these little personalities.
Thank you again, Mom and Dad, for the wonderful opportunity I had to photograph your sweet children. I feel blessed to have been let into their lives, to witness their love, and to capture them as they truly are. Today.
What a Witch | Dallas Childrens Photographer
October 26, 2011Mackay was just looking so cute in her witch costume I knew I had to do a photoshoot with her. The weekend I had planned to go out, Nate was out of town. But I bravely accepted the challenge. So, Zack in a stroller with a bazillion books and toys, hanging out right beside me on this wooded trail worked out pretty well. Surprisingly. There were a few shots I didn’t get that I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wish I could have. But by that time Zack was out of his stroller and running either a) down the path, or b) toward the parking lot.
On the drive there I was trying to prep Mackay. (Children of photographers have a hard lot in life, I’m telling you.) I told her that when we got to our location I wanted her to “cooperate”. Why do you want me to cooperate? Mackay asked. Because we want the pictures to turn out really nice, I tried to tell her. Why do we need nice pictures? she asked. Because we did your hair and make-up and are driving out to a special location, I told her. The conversation, somehow, miraculously worked. I had about 15 minutes of her time where I could actually tell her what to do and she actually did it. A true miracle, indeed.
So without further adieu, meet my little witch. And her witch mop.

I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween. And I hope your kids get lots of candy–all the kinds that you enjoy secretly eating when they aren’t watching. C’mon. You know we all do it.
My Proof IV | Dallas Newborn Children and Family Photographer
October 17, 2011
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be in front of the camera (Eeks!) for a friend who is jumping with both feet into the world of photography. (Make sure to check out her blog here!) Despite the fact that I have a two year old who does NOT know how to sit still EVER, and a four year old who insists that she can pose herself, we had a wonderful time with Lauren. The best part were the yogurt covered raisins she brought along for bribes. The kids went crazy over them! And I couldn’t believe how quickly and easily my kids accepted Lauren. They absolutely loved her and treated her as an old friend. What could be better? Oh, maybe being able to preserve memories like these. Thanks again, Lauren! My Proof is alive and well.
Family of Five | Deep Ellum Dallas Children and Family Photography
October 12, 2011I can’t decide what my favorite part of this recent family session was. Maybe it was the phenomenal weather, quite possibly Mom’s shoes, maybe the rockin’ Deep Ellum location…. But I would have to say my favorite part was getting to see this sweet family again after a whole year had passed! I was completely taken back by how big the kids all looked. But I couldn’t help but fall in love with this family again. These three kids have the cutest, spunkiest personalities. And I had a ball with them all!

Thank you again, T & J, for such a wonderful experience photographing your family. I couldn’t have asked for a better time!
