Halloween Craft Ideas for the Kids | Dallas Children and Family Photographer

With the weather FINALLY turning Fall-ish, Chili, costumes, and crafts are on the brain.  Holidays are such a fun time to spend with your children doing things you don’t normally do.  At our house we love everything crafts!  So I had to share some of the ideas I have come across while searching for my own family.

These mini pumpkins caught my eye because they would make me the World’s Greatest Mom to my daughter Mackay.  Anything miniature sized is “sooo cute.”  Plus the fact that we are always finding acorns outside–this is a perfect craft!

This is a fun and super easy way to decorate your  home for the fun Halloween Holiday.  My kids would absolutely LOVE sitting on a chair decorated as a ghost.  So much so that they MAY just eat their vegetables…

A craft that is not only super easy to make but ALSO a cute way to decorate your home?  I’m in!

This next craft would be great for the bigger kiddos (or husbands) in need of some extra Halloween Holiday spirit.

And this last craft is the one I am so excited for!  Super easy and super fun.  Great Halloween craft ideas for the kids!

Anita - Disgusting story alert…

Okay, last fall I thought it would be a great idea to use the acorns from my yard in the house as decor. I filled up a glass hurricane with acorns about a third of the way and set a lovely fall scented candle in it.

It was about a week later that I noticed the bottom of the hurricane was crawling with little white worms/maggots…..

I was so grossed out, the entire thing went in the garbage!

Kalli - Oh Anita! That reminds me of the time my daughter and I collected acorns outside. And then brought them inside. And then found all the crawling white worm things… Maybe there is something we can spray our outside things with so they can be safe and pretty to bring inside? I’ll have to look into that! At least your acorns were contained…

Meagan - I just made some crafts today! I cut out bat shapes from black foam and hot-glued them onto clothes pins so I could clip them on to the blinds and curtains. They look cute and Sydney loves them!

Kalli - What a cute idea, Meagan! We will have to do that around our house!
