It’s a shame that if you were to show this picture to anyone under the age of 18, they would have NO IDEA what it was. And if you were to say anything about making a “collect call” they would look at you like you were crazy.

I remember the days in high school, I would call 1-800-COLLECT and listen to the operator. When she asked me to state my name I would say, HimomthisisKalli. Iamreadyforyoutocomegetme. Pickmeupbythe– *BEEP*. (Oh, man. Almost got it all in.) And then my mom would get the call, and on her end it would say, Hi, you have a collect call from “HimomthisisKalli. Iamreadyforyoutocomegetme. Pickmeupbythe” Would you like to accept this call?
And she would say no. So as not to incur any charges, and then she would come pick me up from school. Oh, the good ol’ days. It’s a shame the new generation of the day will have no idea what I am talking about.

Cammie - ya, I think all the time about how it’s so different now than when we went to highschool, and it wasn’t even that long ago! I remember somebody Senior year saying they would text me and I didn’t know what they were talking about.
