This is my proof. My proof of me and my Mom.  And this is ALLLL  of it.  I had my mom scan to me EVERY picture she could find of us together.  Here it is:

Yes, I noticed my mom looks like she was 12 when she gave birth to me.

And yes, I noticed the candles to this cute teddy bear birthday cake has the burning candles sticking out of its EYES.  Great idea, Dad.

My mom was sick, which means I was sick.  Can you tell?

I was TERRIFIED of the camera, so my mom had to get in the pictures with me.  Just after work, when she wasn’t ready to be photographed.  And then she shaded my whole head.  And from the words stained to the front you can tell this picture was taken in March 1987, when I was 10 months.

And then fast forward to college.

And then my wedding.And that’s it.  That’s all we have together.  And from this stems my new regular blog posts, called, “My Proof.” Proof that I was here.  With my kids.  That we did things together, and liked each other.  That I loved them.  At each and every stage of their lives.  This is going to be a reoccurring blog post partly so that it will actually get me to do it.  Because there is always an excuse of, Oh, I hate this shirt. Or, I didn’t shower today.  My house is a mess. Or, I really need to lose a few pounds. Before I take that picture.  No longer.

Meet Teddy.  Teddy came along when Zack was born.  Nate’s boss gave the best gift ever possible–a gift to the older sibling.  Who’s not quite used to not having presents in the house that aren’t for them.  Well, Teddy has been in our life ever since.  Going on almost two years.

Teddy used to be a boy, but recently changed to a girl.  Which is more fitting, I think, given that she is pink.

If we can’t find Teddy, you better believe there is a little girl in our house that isn’t going to sleep.

If Teddy is tired, NO ONE can go into the kids room.  Sometimes for the whole day.  Where all the toys are stored.  Teddy doesn’t like to be bothered when she’s trying to sleep.

I recently found out that Teddy is allergic to flowers.  I had no idea.

Teddy is married.  I know this because she wore a wedding dress (aka Mackay’s swimming suit) for about a week.  I assume she is married to Mackay.

Teddy is potty trained.  And if both Mackay and Teddy have to go to the bathroom at the same time, Teddy gets priority.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Teddy was in our next family picture.

It’s a shame that if you were to show this picture to anyone under the age of 18, they would have NO IDEA what it was.  And if you were to say anything about making a “collect call” they would look at you like you were crazy.

I remember the days in high school, I would call 1-800-COLLECT and listen to the operator.  When she asked me to state my name I would say, HimomthisisKalli. Iamreadyforyoutocomegetme.  Pickmeupbythe– *BEEP*.  (Oh, man.  Almost got it all in.) And then my mom would get the call, and on her end it would say, Hi, you have a collect call from “HimomthisisKalli. Iamreadyforyoutocomegetme.  Pickmeupbythe”  Would you like to accept this call?

And she would say no.  So as not to incur any charges, and then she would come pick me up from school.  Oh, the good ol’ days.  It’s a shame the new generation of the day will have no idea what I am talking about.
