Kyle and Kelcee are Getting Married! | Dallas Fort Worth Engagement Photographer

April 27, 2011

Kyle and Kelcee by Kalli BarkerThis evening my older brother, Kyle, and his new bride, Kelcee, will be married.  I can’t wait for what the future holds for them!  I’ll share more images from their wedding day later.  (Just think: vintage homemade.)  And seriously, I couldn’t have picked a better woman for my brother.  Congrats to Kyle and Kelcee!

Happy Easter! . . .yesterday | Dallas Fort Worth Childrens Photographer

No-bake cookie nests by Kalli BarkerHappy Easter!  . . . yesterday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing day.  We are currently in Utah welcoming my younger brother home from Brazil and getting ready for a wedding!

Being the wonderful, almost-perfect mother that I am, I made these No-bake cookie nests with Whopper Robbin eggs in lieu of the holiday.  I sure ate a lot of them myself. . .

Andy’s Coming Home | Dallas Fort Worth Childrens Photographer

April 22, 2011

The last time Mackay saw my little brother is when she had just turned two.  (She’s now 4!)  When Andy was here Mackay still needed a translator every time she spoke.  Andy could be her translator, which shows how close they were.  He has been in Brazil for the past two years serving a mission for our church.  And he’s coming home tomorrow.  Probably pretty tanned, fluent in Portuguese, and the culture shock might be…um…extreme.  And Zack?  Zack was born three months after he left.  So he will be meeting child #2 for the first time.  And Zack is almost two, the age Mackay was when he left.  This should be interesting, but we can’t wait!
Andy's Coming Home by Kalli Barker

The Christmas before Andy left I bought Nate two skydiving passes.  One for me, one for him.  But then I got pregnant, and my doctor was pretty sure it wasn’t a good idea for me to go.  (Okay, which makes sense, but I was still pretty upset.)  So just before Andy left we flew him out here to Texas to go skydiving with Nate.  Nate’s pretty sure it should be a tradition with all of my brothers to take them skydiving after they graduate high school and before they serve their missions.  We’ll see if my other brothers are up to the challenge.  :)

I was so happy when this family wanted their photoshoot in the wonderful Texas Bluebonnets.  I found the perfect location through a photographer friend, and then these little girls showed up in the CUTEST little outfits.  Perfect for this Spring photoshoot!

This last image has got to be one of my favorites.  Showing off the bluebonnets, the early morning sun, and the cutest sisters in the whole wide world!  The wide angle shot is perfect for a large statement gallery wrapped canvas…if I do say so myself.Bella and Lola by Kalli Barker
