She gets that look on her face, like she is so excited to unveil to you her newest idea. But it’s not new. It’s usual. “Lets…play…pretend!” When we hear that both Nate and I roll our eyes and mumble under our breath. There is no escaping it. So you be that child, or that student, or that puppy, or princess, or patient, or babysitter. And you sit while she explains the rules. FOR A VERY LONG TIME. And because she is so excited she keeps repeating herself. Over. and over. and over. And there is no varying from the “rules”, because if you do, new rules are made. And you think, “Oh my gosh. I am going so crazy…” And then I remind myself to just take a step back…and look at her…and I see her eyes, and how they are blue on the outside and green in the middle, and how her hair is the color of hay, and it shines and it’s so soft. And how she can make me laugh by saying the funniest thing, no matter how mad or crazy I am. And I really love her. All of her. I can’t believe she’s turning 4 this month!

This photoshoot went less than perfect. I spent a lot of time and a lot of money picking out the perfect outfit. In the dressing room she loved it, but when it came to the morning of the photoshoot she kept telling me that girls don’t wear plaid. So our morning was spent on google looking up girls wearing plaid. And then somehow we were looking up girls wearing silly bandz… And in the field the magical powers I thought I had with children were quickly washed away. Mackay wasn’t interested in ANY of it. And I thought of how we didn’t get ANY images, and how horrible I was, and frustration was abound. And I went straight home to hook my camera up to the computer, and I found these. Mmm…I love my job.

Elise - Gorgeous! I feel the same way when I take Cohen’s pictures. I’m always so surprised that I actually have some images that turn out
Did you use the field I told you about or did you find another one?
Cammie - Gorgeous! I can’t believe our girls are so old!
grandma Sharon - Beautiful girl, love her innocence and her imagination. You have so many wonderful memories that will last forever and you can visually revisit them at anytime…they will become more precious as the years go by. Love you all, grandma sharon
Kim - She is beautiful and these pictures are awesome!
Kalli - Elise-
I definitely used that field you told me about. It was amazing! The colors turned out so beautifully! Too bad it was a tad bit cold (okay, Texas kind-of cold), but my daughter has lived longer in Texas than out. So we can’t blame her. Thanks again! You’re the best!
Kristi - Mackay is a babe! 4 seems so old, doesn’t it? Sweet pictures Kalli, as usual.
