He’s almost three years old. His grandma goes by the name of “Da.” And his mom swears he will be 20 and still saying, “I ‘songed’ it.” Because the word is too cute to correct. (I totally get that. I refuse to give up “soup soup” instead of “swimming suit”.) And this little family, of mom and son, was such an honor to photograph. To experience the love that this mother and son shared was so beautiful! And I count myself lucky to have been a part of any of it. An average 2 1/2 year old: Sitting? No. Sitting next to Mom? Definitely no. But this sweet boy–oh how sweet he was! Mom and Grandma described him as shy, loving, and totally compassionate. His mom was his best friend. And he wasn’t afraid of showing it. And I can totally picture him as a 17 year old. Still unafraid of showing his mom, his best friend, his love.
And you can tell in these pictures that Mom is pretty fond of him, too. ![]()

I can’t see a picture of this little one by himself, because his mom is so much a part of his world!

And a little look at his budding independence. (Though mom eventually came to the rescue.)

Stephanie - Those top two, with the mother and her eyes closed, just squeezing her little on, and relishing in the moment–is beautiful! And I love the shoes storyboard at the bottom. What a cutie!
Kelly K - We had SUCH a great time! I Love, Love, Love him tying his shoes! I can’t wait to see more pictures of just him too! He is such a handsome little man!! (I feel like mom can say that) Don’t remind me he will be 17 one day! I hope he sees these pictures for many years to come and remembers his love of his momma AND trains!
admin - Oh yeah! I forgot about his obsession with trains! So what a great idea to do the photoshoot with them. Though I don’t think we ever saw any “trains”, they were all “caboose”.
